Another evening outing with the work crew, this time we would be targeting the margins with proper gear. One member of the team was missing however, Foxy, the tench tamer couldn't make the evening. He did miss the action that was for sure! The Pegs Our normal pegs over the back of the lake which is mainly sociable and helps my "gilly" duties. Set-up I'd brought my carp top kits with elastic rated 14-16 coupled together with some proper carp rigs, 0.4g on 0.2 diameter line and size 12 hooks to a 0.17 hook length. Bait was a simple dead maggots and sweetcorn and I'd mixed up about 5kg of groundbait. The Session Jack arrived first and had set up his waggler rod and of course as Tees Valley doesn't disappoint was straight into fish. I set Aimee up with a top kit and dropped some groundbait into the edge with no loose offerings and put around 8 dead maggots on the hook.
