I'm very lucky to have another masterclass with Bob Nudd.  Big thanks to the good lady who bought me this surprise present.  This would be my second time out with Bob. Bob called me well in advance to discuss what I'd like to do for the day.  First option was going to be a river somewhere as I tend to mainly fish commercial venues my other option was to learn to fish a big natural water fishing at distance using braid for big bream. So the day was set and the location agreed upon was Gunwade Lake, Ferry Meadows in Peterborough. I called my fishing buddy Mark up to see if he wanted to come along too which was very timely as he'd just had a day with Bob and his father in-law. We met Bob in the car park and took our gear down to Pegs 39 and 40 so not too long a walk. Set-Up - Rods and Reels Big casts, heavy rigs need substantial gear.  I was using a 13 foot Daiwa Tournament RS Feeder rod coupled with a Daiwa Cast'izm 25 QDA  loaded with guru Pulse

What a day!  We had everything, pouring rain to sunshine, ambulances, the AA turning up and non-stop fishing action! The Venue Mark and I met Bob at Decoy Fisheries, Whittlesy near Peterborough at 9am.  The fishery was very busy, but the owners at Decoy had allocated one of their strip lakes, Elm, for myself and Mark to fish with Bob.  So, firstly a big thanks to the owners at Decoy for the cracking venue it is. Arriving at Elm, Bob walked us down the side of Elm explaining that he had never fished this lake before, that the fish will follow the wind in this weather and that a bit of surface ripple was needed.  As the wind was blowing a gail at the end pegs on Elm, we settled on Pegs 4 & 5.  As I was leading the "Mark vs Mark" battle, the person behind has choice of peg, so Mark took Peg 5 and I set up on Peg 4. Setup Bob advised that we wanted t

So, I turned 40 early in February and of course my parents had a tough time buying me a present. What do you get for the bloke that has everything he needs??? Well, my good lady, Emma was quizzing me in the way all women quiz their blokes... without us know what is going on.  Emma then let my Mum know what I woud love to do... So, a letter arrives for me from none other than Mr Bob Nudd, MBE!!! I've got a days masterclass with Bob.  I was over the moon, what a great present. After missing Bob's call, I emailed him and we decided to fish Decoy Lakes, Peterborough in July.  I cannot wait, plus I'll get to appear on Bob's blog .  One very happy 40 year old!  Thanks Mum and Mike ;-)
