Lewy's Lines

Day 2 of the festival and we would be fishing on Willows and the Strip lake to give everyone some room. A quite night was had by all last night so most we bright eyed and bushy tailed! The Draw I got an early draw as I was helping Midge to set-up, peg 40 on Willows came out which was one of the points, the favourable areas on Willows. The Set-Up Another day on the Pole, so I set-up the following lines: 13 metres at 2 o’clock 13 metres at 10 o’clock  Top 2 + 2 straight ahead  Margin on the left Method Feeder rod over to an empty peg on the other point Bait was Worm, corn, dead red maggots, 6mm , micro and expander pellets The All-In Given yesterday on Bonsai and watching Keith (Shallowman) I decided to have one pole line as chopped worm, the other a pellet line to give me options. After fishing at How End I drove up to Doncaster and met up with all the lads, the beers and dodgy spirits were soon flowing. Not too late a night and back to the lodge and a sleep in at last rather than my normal early start to Paris with work. The Draw Both Keith and I were a little late into the cafe after our home cooked breakfast. Everyone was there and the line formed for the draw bag. We would be fishing Bonzai today, I drew out peg 65, somewhere I had been before the previous year and as both previous festivals I was pegged next to Keith! The Set-Up Given I had an island chuck the method rod was straight out of the bag. Pole lines for the day were: 5 metre line full depth  5 metre and 14 metre shallow line  Right hand margin line Bait for the day was 6mm, micro and expander pellets, sweetcorn, worm and dead red maggots. The start of 6 fishing days for me and a return to Peb’s place, How End Fishery. The talk on Match Fishing Scene was that a draw on Dani’s would be favourable given the expected weather. My record hasn’t been to good on Dani’s. The usual suspects were at the fishery, always great to catch up with them all. The Draw With Yasi’s and Dani’s in the bucket and most people wanted Dani’s, given how the weather was developing even I start to hope for a draw on Dani’s. So, I was very pleased when Dani’s 15 came out of the bag. The Set-Up With an island chuck the method rod came out of the bag and I also set up a 5 metre and margin line on my left. Bait was simply caster, maggot, corn, micro pellets and expander pellet. The previous evening in Salisbury was a normal Withy occurrence with us all decending on YOYO's bar and ordering 13 Rum punches in one round!  The poor bar staff certainly earned their wages that night!  Some more drinks in the Kings Head and back to the kebab shop for some late night food.  The most memorable part of the evening had to be Giles who nipped for a pee, walked to the end of the bridge jumped the wall only to find the drop a little further than expected and ended up in a pile of nettles!  Could this be a dildo award nomination? The Draw Arriving a little late for the draw I found out today would be on the inner snake high peg numbers, aka Cyanide or Suicide straight!  I drew Peg 59, mid way down the straight and once again was next to the Bard and also Bez for the day. Withy 2014... The buildup had started early on both Match Fishing Scene and Facebook.  The drive from London was without incident and I arrived at the fishery to meet up with the majority of the lads.  A beer was quickly put into my hands by Jaap Stam (of West Ham) and the banter began! New boy, DumDum (Adam) handed me a piece of sandpaper along with the comment, "just in case you have forgotten your exfoliating sponge again", much to the amusement of the lads.... This of course, was my dildo award from last year. Two mini cabs arrived an whisked us all off to our hotels and the nights entertainment started. We were joined in the pub by some other Withy lads and before we knew it, the pub was shutting and the kebab house was calling... A new venue to explore in Nottinghamshire with the Matchfishing Scene lads,  Jansons Fishery It was a long old drive from London but the weather was improving and we had heard of big bags of carp from Janson's so I was looking forward to the days sport. Hint to anyone going to Janson's Fishery.  Follow the instructions on there website.  I put the satnav postcode in and ended up down the road in the village of Bingley (I think).  A quick call to Colin and Jads put me on the right road and I was soon at the pub ready for my big breakfast...
